Why do restaurants still only offer diet cola to go with their new, 'healthy' menus?

I am diabetic with a kidney problem. Cola is one of the things I am to avoid. So when I go out, this leaves water only and I already drink enough of that.

Much like diners bringing their own wine, most restaurants will be understanding if you have your own beverage of choice brought in due to your medical needs. Call ahead to see if they will be okay with this and 9 times out of 10 they will. Some restaurants will even offer to send someone to the store to get what want and just add the fee of the beverage to your bill, no service charges.

Any restaurant that serves soda from a fountain can give you soda water and will probably have fresh lemon or lime to go with it. Also most restaurants have unsweetened iced tea which you can leave as it or us an artificial sweetener with. (I use a little fresh squeezed orange...sweetens it up nicely).

My husband has the same problem. He drinks milk sometimes, usually water. Sometimes you can get orange juice, but that sometimes causes problems, also. Some have unsweetened tea.
